How many times have you tried to find an app that lets you edit your videos without all the hassle? While there are tons of apps available on the market that let you tweak and modify your photos, there aren’t as many quality apps out there to edit videos. Whether you want to add some transitions to your videos or simply cut them down, here are 10 of the best Android video editing apps for you to choose from.
1) FilmoraGo
FilmoraGo is a full-featured video editor that’s perfect for Android users who want a more familiar app experience. It has all of your standard features like importing, trimming and sharing, but it also comes with things like green screen effects and warping for those looking to be a little more creative with their content. FilmoraGo also boasts an advanced filtering tool that lets you incorporate action elements into your video footage, which is a cool feature that makes it worth checking out. Another aspect where FilmoraGo stands out from the crowd is its rather innovative approach to editing. Instead of having all of your tools spread across multiple menus and screens, everything is consolidated into one sleek-looking touchscreen interface.
2) Kinemaster
Kinemaster is one of the most complete and easy-to-use video editing apps out there. With Kinemaster, you can easily create a movie, cut videos, edit and add music and audio effects. You can then export your movie to all different types of devices in HD quality or take screenshots from it. Kinemaster is also great for learning how to use video editing apps because you can learn step by step how to do it. All in all, Kinemaster has a lot going for it as one of the best video editors out there. It is definitely worth checking out.
3) Movavi Video Editor
Movavi is one of our favorite video editing apps for Android. Like Magisto, it’s able to create impressive and effects-heavy videos quickly and easily. And while Magisto has more filters and effects (and much better music tracks), Movavi includes more advanced options like chromatic aberration correction, noise reduction, HDR color control, lens correction, etc. It’s also available on both iOS and Android (whereas Magisto only uses iOS), so you can create awesome videos anywhere.
4) Videoshop
With 500,000 installs, Videoshop is one of the most popular video editing apps in Google Play. It allows you to edit videos by trimming, splicing, and adding transitions and effects. You can also use an array of cinematic filters to give your movies a professional touch. The app will export your files in several different file formats (including HD) for sharing with friends on social media or importing into iTunes for syncing with a larger computer. The basic version is free but only includes 24 transitions and no frames or pre-set titles.
5) Lightworks for Android
Given its popularity on other platforms, we’re surprised that it took so long for Lightworks to make its way onto Android. There are a few video editing apps available on Google Play and some of them do offer quite a lot of features. But for users who want a simple and easy-to-use video editor, Lightworks is definitely one of our top choices. The latest version, Lightworks 5 makes your mobile video editing experience smooth and hassle-free.
6) Videopad
With its sleek, easy-to-use interface and cloud storage options for sharing videos, Videopad is a strong video editing app for beginners. The free version of Videopad offers more than enough features to make editing fun and accessible to anyone, with advanced functionality such as transitions and effects saved only for those willing to pay. While you can’t do everything you can on some of its competitors (there are no voiceovers or titles available), it's still a great option. You can also upload directly from your camera roll or social media accounts if you don't want to use Videopad's built-in editor. For basic but powerful video editing on your phone, check out its iOS counterpart.
7) Fast Film Story
Because video editing is a part of filmmaking, it’s also important to have a basic understanding of how to edit videos in post-production. Whether you’re a professional, aspiring filmmaker, or vlogger, one of these 10 apps for video editing on Android will help you polish your projects and share them with an audience. A quick Google search will let you know if your phone is capable of handling video editing software and what kinds of things you can do with it. If not, then don’t worry: there are several free options available that let you create solid projects without breaking your budget.
8) Videorama by Reallusion
This video editing app is great for amateurs, thanks to its simple drag-and-drop interface. You can use it to edit videos from your phone or as a quick way to create little clips. The app's coolest feature is that you can swap faces between video clips, making for some pretty interesting results. It's not perfect though: even on a powerful device like my Pixel 2 XL, there was quite a bit of lag when moving things around and previewing edits — so I don't recommend trying it out unless you have plenty of time (like an hour or more) in which to make progress and take lots of short breaks.
9) FCPX on iPad (free version only supports iMovie import, no exporting yet )
Final Cut Pro X has finally made its way to mobile devices. The iPad app isn't as powerful as its desktop counterpart, but that's because it's an iOS app first and foremost. There are a lot of little touches, including built-in video camera support and smooth interface animations, that make it feel like you're using a real video editor (as opposed to one that just happens to be running on your tablet). The free version only supports importing iMovie projects with no exporting, which means you can use Final Cut only if you have a Mac or Windows computer. $9.99 unlocks all editing features of FCPX on iPad without requiring you to install other Apple apps.
10) Quik (Google acquired it so will be discontinued ?)
Offers a streamlined editor and templates, as well as integration with GoPro cameras. Mobile editing programs can be complex. However, it’s probably one of your best options for free video editing on mobile. It comes from GoPro, so you know that if you use Quik, your videos will look awesome. It also supports 360-degree video from both its app and within Facebook. Another plus is that it’s available for both Android and iOS devices (although not at the same time).
